How to Memorize a Bible Verse during your busy Mommy life
I have been reading many christian womens blogs, my favorite being Women Living Well, and also a new one I found named "Children are a Blessing" (both can be found on the left side here under 'blogs I follow")
I have been meeting new online acquaintances that are godly women, and have spent daily time in his word getting my life back on track. I also received my book, written by Courtney Joseph called 'Women Living Well; Finding your joy in God, Your Man, Your kids, and Your home" and have been pouring over it, highlighting, writing in my journal, even started a prayers journal! Each day I begin with the word of God, the great I am, before I ever check my Iphone, the computer, or anything else I make sure I awake and drink in some of the water from the living well :)
I just want to share with you some of the things Ive been learning. This post Ill share about memorizing bible verses and why its important.
Its pretty easy to say why its important, the bible says we are to arm ourselves with the word and use it as our shield and armor against the things of the World.
So, it makes sense to wake up with the first thing on our minds to be speaking with the Lord, and to spend some time soaking in his word to arm ourselves in our day with knowledge to get us by.
Now, how can we do this when we have children that require our immediate attention from the moment we open our eyes? I have learned a few ways from the book and here I will share them:
1. Pick one verse for the week that speaks to you. Write it down on a notecard and stick it in your pocket. Get it out at different times during the day and read it over.
2. Open your bible and leave it on your kitchen counter. Each time you pass it take a moment to read that verse.
3. meditate and pray on that verse and how it applies to your life throughout your day.
4. Read the verse when you first wake up, if you dont have time for an alone bible study and moment with the Lord, at least you have the verse! Read it first and read it as the last thing you do before bed!
Tomorrow I will share with you what I am learning on praying, new ways to pray, and in detail about my new prayer journal and how I am using it!
Be blessed!

Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart
So, it makes sense to wake up with the first thing on our minds to be speaking with the Lord, and to spend some time soaking in his word to arm ourselves in our day with knowledge to get us by.
